Car accidents are the #1 killer of children in the United States. Despite being designed to keep children safe, over 90% of car seats are used incorrectly, causing preventable injuries and even deaths. 

The Safest Seat envisions a world where every child rides in “the safest seat” in the car and lack of financial means never compromises safety. 

We empower parents and caregivers to keep their children as safe as possible through education and hands-on demonstrations.

We're also collecting funds for a subsidized car seat program.

A Mom on a Mission
As a young mother learning how to keep her baby safe on the move, Chana Lightstone noticed many friends and even strangers using their car seats incorrectly. After calling local police and fire stations looking for installation help but finding that no one in the neighborhood with any car safety training, Chana attended a training herself. After she became a CPST (Child Passenger Safety Tech) in 2013, friends, acquaintances and community-members started informally approaching Chana for car seat assistance.

In 2015, in response to a growing demand, Chana transformed her passion into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. She is now a CPST-I, a Tech Instructor, and leads a small team. She is also special needs trained.
